Agricultural Equipment
In much of Africa there are large amounts of uncultivated land where no food is grown. This is because there aren’t enough people to till the ground by hand or the people can’t afford to buy enough seed to grow on all the land available to them.
One solution Jacob’s Well has been providing to poor communities is to send old tractors – by 2024 we had sent 15 tractors to Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso and Ghana. With an old tractor, a village can cultivate up to 100 times the land that it could cultivate by hand. We also send out old ploughs, trailers and other agricultural equipment and machines to help the people there grow more food.
